Casa Diama

The words "retreat, hideaway, peace, tranquility, private, rural, secluded, and exceptional" can all be used to describe Casa Diama yet none of them can possibly prepare the arriving guest for the view that greets them in the morning, during the day and at sunset. All times of the day provide different aspects of light, shade and shadow in this most unusual of locations.

CasaDiama, located in La Geria, the islands wine growing region, is located on a 21,000 square metre estate that has a border with the Timanfaya National Park to the west, where the scene of the islands historic 18th century volcanic eruption has been preserved and can now be visited and viewed by tourists. This backdrop to Casa Diama, originally built as a stone barn but now a comfortable and exclusive holiday home, gives amazing photographic opportunities to those that seek the seclusion, vistas and walks of the area.

Owned and lovingly cared for by a Canarian family for the past 15 years the finca produces both its own red and white wine, a host of homegrown vegetables in season together with oranges, lemons and figs. Guests can even assist with the grape harvest in late summer if they wish!

The villa consists of one double and one twin bedroom together with a bathroom, kitchen and lounge / dining room. This accommodation can be supplemented with a seperate and completely self contained (although not rented seperately) one bedroomed apartment which adds addional capacity for two more guests. There is a plunge pool and external terrace area - the villa also has a barbecue and traditiional Canarian domed wood burning oven.

Those who are at one with their enviroment will be pleased to hear that the house is powered by both solar and wind energy through an invertor system.
